About the Event
Where Light meets Dark combines vast sounds and soaring visuals that reverberate around the ancient stones of St Giles’ Church in Wrexham. NEW Sinfonia are proud to premiere this new collaborative work for chamber orchestra and projected visuals which has been co-created by Jon Guy and Ant Dickinson.
Ant Dickinson is digital artist, musician and creative technologist whose work integrates ideas of improvisation and indeterminism with a natural, organic visual aesthetic. His music often utilises unconventionally applied instrumentation combined with digital elements and has been performed as far and wide as Adelaide, Australia and Blackpool, UK. Jon Guy is composer and musician with strong attachment to North Wales where he grew up and continues to produce and perform music. His music is rooted in classical traditions but influenced by many genres and collaborations he has undertaken with artists from a range of genres.
Alongside this new work NEW Sinfonia will perform two beloved classics, the effervescent Sorcerer’s Apprentice and the tempestuous Danse Macabre.
