About the Event
As the light begins to set on NEW Sinfonia’s Ten4Ten festival join us in the twilight hours to enjoy a performance of music that will soothe your senses before engaging in some frivolity in our own musical Afterglow.
Alongside the calming sounds of Debussy and Rheinberger will perch a rendition of Aurum, Golden Light by our resident music creator Jon Guy.
Also featured in this concert will be three short works by celebrated welsh composers. Angharad Jenkins and Patrick Rimes are two members of the award-winning Welsh folk band Calan, and they have written Gobaith & Kost ar C'hoat, pieces full of hope and joyful spirit.
Claire Victoria Roberts is a composer, vocalist and violinist who creates richly-scored, glimmering music that draws upon her love of lyrical jazz, traditional fiddle music, and impressionist orchestral textures.
We end the show with a selection of foot stomping folk music from Scandinavia, a feisty Hungarian masterpiece, and an impassioned tango from Argentina.
