About the Event
Calling all young musicians! Join us for an informal and relaxed workshop where we will learn music from the Ivor Novello Award-nominated opera Gresford, Up From Underground, playing and conducting alongside musicians from the NEW Sinfonia orchestra.
Open to ALL instrumentalists Grade 1 and above!
Young musicians will perform new extracts from our Opera production alongside our orchestra of professional musicians. This workshop will develop their ensemble performance, confidence and leadership skills, and create inspirational and lasting musical memories as they play side-by-side with professional musicians. They will also be invited to try conducting the orchestra!
At 12.15pm we will have an informal performance of what we have worked on for parents before the workshop ends at 12.30pm.
We are taking Jon Guy’s Award-nominated opera Gresford, Up From Underground on tour across Wales. There are opportunities for young musicians to play in the orchestra during the performances in addition to the workshops.…
