Figaro, Concertino and Divertimento

Lively, cheeky, funny – Mozart had a sense of humour, and you can hear it from the word go in this cheerful opera Figaro. Musical refections and virtuosic woodwind players complete this afternoon show.

About the Event

Mozart's Marriage of Figaro is a great love-story, with a few cases of mistaken identity, trickery, and practical jokes thrown in for good measure. Musical highlights include the ‘Sull’aria’ duet, and the soprano aria ‘Porgi, amor’. Flute virtuso Kevin Gowland joins NEW Sinfonia as soloist in music by William Alwyn complimenting music by other UK based composers.

This concert gives outstanding students from the Royal Northern College of Music an opportunity to work with the musicians of NEW Sinfonia right in the heart of Wrexham.
